Answer: I've been doing artwork since middleschool, but I've been doing art and design professionally for four years now. Question: What programs do you use? Answer: I use Painter IX to sketch and ink digitally, photoshop to color everything, and illustrator for most vector and logo work. Question: Do you do commissions? Answer: Absolutely. Question: Will you work for free? Answer: Only under very, VERY special circumstances. Question: So what are your rates? Answer: Commission prices are determined on a case by case basis as no two pieces of art are of the same complexity. However, by and large I keep pretty close to the following guidelines. Commissions come in one of three flavors Pencils(p), Inked(i), and Full Color(c). Baseline cost for a single figure, 8.5x11" commission is $35(p), $55(i), $75(c). Commissions don't have to be done on 8.5x11" paper, but to do larger, I have to contract out to a print shop for the final printing. Larger images also allow for much more detail which result in a higher cost. 11x17" art is half again as expensive as and 8.5x11" and increasing the page size to 18x24" doubles the cost. Each additional figure in an image adds a cost of $20(p), $35(i), $50(c). Like aditional figures, backgrounds increase the complexity of the image, and thus can cost as little as an additional $10 to as much as the respective baseline cost. All commissions, unless otherwise specified are digitally created. For an aditional 25% the commission can be done on traditional medium (pencil/ink on paper) and you will recieve the original artwork. All color works are digitally created, period. All commissions result in a hardcopy being mailed to you, regardless of level finish or method of creation. Ultimately, it never hurts to submitt a commission request. There is no obligation in asking for a quote. Question: Hey, I've seen this thing you list at conventions... the "Oh my God you want what?" Special. What is it? Answer: The OMGYWW Special is me covering my ass. I reserve the right to apply the Special to any commission request if I feel it truly fits the category. Regardless of what the guideline price of the commission might have been, the Special resets the minimum cost to $100. Examples of commissions that I have not recieved but would fit into this category if I did get them would be: the final battle of Ministirith, amputations, or turkey porn. Most erotica does NOT fall into this category. Question: Will I be able to see/make changes to my commission? Answer: There are three points in the commission process in which you can request alterations (extreme alterations may result in an additional fee). You can request alterations BEFORE work on the commission begins. Furthermore, screen resolution .jpgs of the rough pencils and final colors will be emailed to you for review before the next step is begun, so if you have alterations you want, that's when to ask. Question: Where do you get your ideas? Answer: From books, television, movies, random internet browsing, dreams, and unexpected, violent hits from the Muse's Hammer of Inspiration. Question: What is Comedity? Answer: Comedity is a pseudo-autobiographical comic about the adventures and lives of a bunch of college friends, internal personalities of the main character, and a penguin. For more information, I suggest you check out the comic itself. Question: What is Finder's Keepers?
